F.A.Q.
Is the Free State Projects doing any projects
in the Free State now?
No, we are still embryonic so we are pulling ourselves together
and finding funding as well as letting all our volunteers flow
towards the areas that they would like to assist in.
So its all a work in progress. We are currently self assembling
our general organisational structure, the online collaboration
system, a better mailing list, funding, university support,
several spin off co-operative run for-profit projects, and other
general things. This list is expected to grow and I suppose
will serve as the to-do list that something to volunteer on
can be chosen from. We are not yet active in the rural areas
we want to be in. Should be by mid 2009.
What are the areas that Free State
Projects needs volunteer assistance in?
Plenty! Currently we need people to help with establishing
Free State Projects as a co-operative trust.
Creating frameworks for our health, education, art, culture,
tourism, agricultural (permaculture), complementary currency
and building projects.
We need to harness worthy foundations like lutw.com and laptop.org
so South Africans can start benefitting!
How many FSP volunteers are there?
Around 350, core team is 5.
Please enquire about helping out! :)
How can I get involved or some more info?
Join the main (ultra low volume) mailing list by
emailing us on contact[at]freestateprojects[dot]org
with your request to join or any questions.
How does the wiki part of the website
work?
A wiki (www.freestateprojects.org/wiki)
is just an editable text based webpage. You click the edit
button on any page and you can modify it to add or clarify a
point, ask a question or just expand on what was written. Also
see the links in the "Wiki system help and reference guides"
which is available on each wiki page.
